Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or Cold Laser is the application of red and near infrared light over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing, reduce inflammation and give relief for both acute and chronic pain. LLLT is used to: increase the speed, quality and tensile strength of tissue repair; resolve inflammation and relieve pain.

Sports medicine and physical therapy practices often use cold laser therapy in the treatment of minor injuries and sprains, such as:

  • ligament sprains
  • muscle strains
  • tendonitis
  • tennis elbow
  • neck pain
  • lower back pain
  • knee pain
  • pain associated with muscle spasms

It’s also used to help reduce swelling and promote healing of the joints and soft tissue.
