Meet Our 2022 Spring Resident, Dr. Katie Larson

Katie Larson has her clinical doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) and is a holistic nutritionist. She graduated from Gonzaga University in 2000 with a BS in Exercise Science and from University of Puget Sound in 2004 with her DPT. After going through her own health struggles and realizing how important the role of food is in wellness, she became increasingly interested in the field of holistic health and nutrition. After watching the families she worked with in the pediatric PT field continue to struggle with picky eating, gastrointestinal issues, skin issues and more, she decided to return to the classroom to advance her knowledge in this field. In 2021, she graduated from the American College of Healthcare Sciences with a Masters in Holistic Nutrition. Katie believes deeply in the body’s ability to heal when given the right tools. She has joined Dr. Julie Conner and the Healthy Weighs Wellness Center residency program in Functional Medicine, Integrative, and Holistic Nutrition for the Spring 2022 semester.

Katie lives north of Seattle with her husband and two children, 12 and 9. She loves to run, read, garden, and knit.

Meet Our 2020 Resident

Drew Mulvey is a State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist and a Candidate for the Certified Nutrition Specialist Credential. Drew graduated from the University of Bridgeport Summa Cum Laude with a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition.  From her own health battles, she has specialized in gut health, food sensitivities and autoimmunity and is looking to expand. She takes a system-based holistic approach to the individual’s health concerns. She not only addresses the root of the problem but helps build sustainable lifestyle changes that can keep the individual in optimal health.

Drew graduated in 2012 with a degree in Biology but soon after came to find that her true passion lay in helping people in the health and wellness industry. This motivated her to pursue a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition. Her love for fitness also drove her to pursue a certification as a personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2017.  Drew passed her board exam for the Board of Certified Nutritionist Specialists in December of 2018. She is looking to complete the 1000 clinical hour requirement from the Board of Certified Nutrition Specialists this April with Dr. Julie Conner. She is enthusiastic and very excited to be working close with the team of practitioners at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center to utilize and expand upon her current knowledge in the Functional Medicine, Integrative and Holistic Nutrition Residency Program.

She loves to cook, is an avid gym goer and athlete, nature lover and is enthusiastic about learning and growing in her field. She has just recently finished her cookbook which caters to those who would like to escape the “labels” and eat according to their unique tastes and needs.  She shares her recipes on TV and puts her knowledge of alternative baking and cooking to use through teaching alternative baking classes catered to those with food sensitivities.
