What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a hands-on technique that focuses on treating neuro musculoskeletal disorders.
What Does a Chiropractor Treat?
A chiropractor treats a variety of problems including Neck Pain, Back Pain, Headaches, Strains, Leg Pain, Sports Injuries, Arthritic Pain, Car Accident Injuries, Carpal Tunnel, and many other conditions.

What is the typical patient journey and an example of an Initial Consultation?
The initial chiropractic visit takes about one hour. Forms are reviewed and a medical history is taken. Range of motion, orthopedic and neurologic testing, and palpation are performed. The treatment modalities used are specific to the needs of the patient after the assessment is completed. They include Ice, Heat, Ultrasound, Electrical Stimulation, Active Release Technique (ART), Kinesio Taping, Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or Cold Laser Therapy, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF), Orthotics, Dry Needling, and Shockwave Therapy.
Dr. Brian provides safe and gentle chiropractic care to his patients. Using the latest technology and techniques, Dr. Brian treats his patients using an integrative approach. He uses many different modalities to provide relief to his patients in pain. As a nutritionist, Dr. Brian compliments this chiropractic care with personalized therapeutic meal plans.
Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement-based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. Headaches, Back Pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Shin Splints, Shoulder Pain, Sciatica, Plantar Fasciitis, Knee Problems, and Tennis Elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common; they are often a result of overused muscles.

Kinesio Taping
Kinesio Taping is used to re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce pain, optimize performance, prevent injury, and promote improved circulation and healing.
Low Level Laser Therapy
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or Cold Laser Therapy is the application of red and near infrared light over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing, reduce inflammation, and give relief for both acute and chronic pain.

Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field
Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field (PEMF) using the Magnetic Pulser by SOTA offers the benefits of a pulsed magnetic field to help balance the body’s natural electricity for health and well-being. It also uses electromagnetic fields in an attempt to heal non-union fractures. The Magnetic Pulser can be used anywhere on the body.
The SOTA Magnetic Pulser offers two modes – Regular and Fast. In Regular Mode, the magnetic field penetrates at least 9 inches or 23 cm. In Fast Mode, the magnetic field penetrates at least 7 inches or 18 cm. The PEMF creates a flow of electrons, and the Hand Paddle of the Magnetic Pulser can be held over any area to generate microcurrents. The pulsed magnetic field generated by the Magnetic Pulser penetrates through clothing, so it can be used while fully clothed.
3D Computerized Custom Orthotics
Dr. Brian uses advanced Foot Levelers 3D Computerized Technology to provide Custom Orthotics to his patients. These are usually not covered by a patient’s insurance plan. These comfortable Orthotics can help with flat feet, plantar fasciitis, low back pain, and many other conditions.

Myofascial Dry Needling
According to The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), “Dry Needling (DN) is a skilled intervention that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.
Dry needling is a technique used to treat dysfunctions in skeletal muscle, fascia, and connective tissue, and diminish persistent peripheral nociceptive input, and reduce or restore impairments of body structure and function leading to improved activity and participation.”
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy is non-surgical and non-invasive. This quick, effective procedure harnesses intense but very short energy waves to heal many chronic painful orthopedic conditions.

An example of follow-up chiropractic sessions
A follow-up session takes about 30 minutes. Because every patient is different, the length of time between sessions varies. The goal is to see the improvement in the patient since the previous visit. A patient who just had a car accident and sustained multiple injuries may need to come multiple times weekly for many months.
On the other hand, we have patients that come in for monthly adjustments to keep them healthy and aligned. The treatment protocol is adjusted accordingly based on progress toward goals. Many different therapies, as outlined above, may be used at each session based on the needs of the patient.
