She also completed her dietetic internship program with Highest Commendations through Cedar Crest College in May 2013.

Colleen has been working at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center since 2014 as an Associate Nutritionist.  She is married to her wonderful husband, Jim, and they are proud parents to their two sons, Cameron and Spencer.

Colleen’s Nutrition Philosophy. “After reviewing your initial paperwork and performing some non-invasive nutrition testing at your first visit, I’ll use the data to determine a general meal prescription for you. We may also discuss using all-natural, whole food-based supplements to complement your dietary intake. For medical nutrition therapy purposes, I often refer to the Institute of Functional Medicine therapeutic diets to help manage certain conditions.  I tend to use Choose My Plate guidelines when working with children to guide them in general balance and needed nutrients. I will not tell you to remove whole food groups from your diet. I am very interested in mindful and intuitive eating practices, rather than unnecessary restrictions.”

Csilla Zakarias

Certified Ingham Method Reflexologist Meridian Therapist

“Reflexology works by relieving stress and pain throughout the body by focusing on the hands and feet and there are no needles involved. There are pressure points in these areas that correspond to other parts of the body that are not normally reached with a normal massage. This is a great way for the practitioner to access a specific area that is giving you trouble without touching the area.

In 2007, I became a certified Ingham Method Reflexologist with the State of Connecticut. Early on in my training, I had great success. I had a friend whose husband had suffered severe spinal injury in an auto accident. I was sure Reflexology would help him physically and emotionally, so I convinced him to be a case study for me. It did work! His wife was so impressed with the results of my treatment that she went to school and later opened her own health center where we worked together for 10 years. Her husband? He has never had to return to the medication he was previously dependent on!

In 2016, I learned from Lilian Tibshraeny-Morten from South Africa, the author of Moving the Energy: Reflexology and Meridian Therapy. I invite you to experience reflexology and make an appointment to see me at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center.”

Toni King MS LAc, NCCAOM Dilp of Acu

Acupuncturist

“Toni earned her Clinical Master of Science in Acupuncture from TSCA and has been a practicing Acupuncturist in New York since 2008.

She works primarily in KM Style, a Japanese style of Acupuncture that is experienced by the patient as gentle, yet powerfully effective. KM Style is unique among the Japanese styles in that it tests reflexes against treatment points. This enables the patient to know instantly whether the treatment point is the right one for them. Change is felt on the table from the very first treatment, effectively taking the guess work out of crafting the correct treatment for the patient. Toni continues to study with Kiiko Matsumoto (KM) whenever possible.

Toni also offers exciting new options based on Traditional Chinese Medicine but married to new technology. She is very pleased to offer Nano and Micro Needling to compliment her base of cosmetic techniques that include Mai Zen and Facial Rejuvenation Cosmetic Acupuncture. She is also proficient in Gua Sha (She studied with Arya Nielsen who wrote the book “Gua Sha, A Traditional Technique for Modern Practice.”), as well as Cupping, E-Stim, and Moxabalm with IR. She can also provide TCM Style Acupuncture where appropriate, and APM Style Acupuncture which is sometimes thought of as Sports Acupuncture and includes Trigger Point Fasciculation and Acupuncture Osteopathy.

She has additional training in Acupuncture for Fertility, Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnostics, Chinese Dietary Theory and Practice, Shiatsu, Zero Balancing Core, Reiki, and Essential Oils.

In the past, Toni worked extensively with car accident victims but does not limit her practice by specializing. The spice of life is in its diversity!

A good practitioner is never finished with her education, and Toni is currently pursuing many educational opportunities to expand her knowledge base to continue to bring the highest quality of care to her patients.”

Christine (Chris) Falkl

Office Manager

“I am the Healthy Weighs Wellness Center Office Manager. I retired from IBM after working there for over 30 years as a secretary/administrator. I was a patient of Dr. Julie Conner’s for over two years. I had lost a lot of weight due to a medical condition plus personal stress. I never went to a nutritionist before, so I didn’t have any idea how to find one. My insurance company gave me a list of potential nutritionists. As I went through the process of searching each candidate to see who would best fit my needs, I came across Dr. Conner’s website. I knew then that I didn’t need to look any further. As I read the details of her practice, I could tell that she was the right person for me. My first visit with Dr. Julie confirmed my belief. Dr. Julie is a very warm and compassionate person. She treated me as if I was part of her family…very concerned with my well being. I am truly grateful for the time she spent with me in turning my health around. I now have the honor to work at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center.”

William (Billy) Conner

Office Manager

“I am the Healthy Weighs office manager, and I am also Dr. Conner’s oldest son. My siblings (Kristi and Brian) and I have worked at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center for our entire lives.  I was born after my mom had already established her nutrition practice, so I was raised in the world of healthy eating and nutrition counseling my entire life. I have worked at Healthy Weighs Wellness Center since I was old enough to stock shelves and copy papers. In high school, I was in charge of the food drives and Christmas gift drives, as well as to help Dr. Conner’s assistants with anything they needed done. I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in International Agriculture and Rural Development. I’ve always wanted to go to Cornell because both of my parents and my grandfather went there. As a requirement for my degree, I worked at Cavite State University in Indang, Philippines doing research on diversified farming and helping banana farmers improve their farming techniques.

During that time in the Philippines, I realized that there were so many street children living on their own with no food and no education. I enjoyed making such a difference in their lives. After spending months in the Philippines, I was inspired to get an M.Ed in Elementary Education. My goal was to teach young children how to read and write. My desire to work in a research lab and pursue advanced education in agricultural research did not hold the same meaning to me anymore. I really enjoy working here with our treatment team and all of our wonderful patients. Our staff helps so many people make positive changes in their lives.

Trust me…it does not matter how poor your motivation is for improving your eating habits; Dr. Julie and her Nutrition team will turn that around and have you eating your fruits and veggies. We are all here to help you succeed in achieving your nutrition and health goals every step of the way. Cheers to good health!”

Cathy Iannone

Office Assistant

“As a Brookfield resident for over 50 years, I welcomed the opportunity to join the Health Weighs staff as an Office Assistant this August. I have always been a health advocate, seeking alternative treatments and I’ve been curious about the services offered at the practice, driving past their model structure every day. Upon entering, I felt a warm and comforting presence within the atmosphere…just the experience I’ve been looking for!

Having spent many years in the corporate arena with a background in publishing, advertising, and retail, I felt a calling to the healthcare field, and joined the ranks of CNAs at a local skilled care facility in 2012 and was promoted to Respiratory Technician. I am also an Election Moderator for our town. I was a Care Plan Manager to both my parents and provide support and companionship to any friends in need.

As a member of the Brookfield Lions Club and Friends of the Brookfield Library, I gain much joy and fulfillment in giving back to the community . A classically trained pianist, I was a member of the National Fraternity of Student Musicians for 13 years and have performed for the residents of several nursing homes in the area. As a mentor for DSABC for 13 years, my student was entitled to a $2000 scholarship under my tutelage. There’s a special place in my heart for Veterans and children with special needs, and I support the organizations that care for these individuals and their families.

I’m currently enrolled in the Associate of Arts Business Administration Degree program at Strayer University and scheduled to graduate in 2022.

I am “mummy” to my kitty Pepe, who was named after Pepe’s Pizza in New Haven, in honor of his grandpa’s favorite restaurant. He brings me a lifetime of comfort and cuddles that make my life complete. His many aunts and uncles love to come to visit and bring him Christmas presents every year!

I am looking forward to getting to know all of our gifted staff, learning as much as I can, and growing within my role, while helping our patients meet their health goals to achieve a better quality of life.”
